Welcome to our blog.I had plannned to use a Facebook group for this but have had a change of heart on that and thought this blog will work and no ones privacy will be at stake. So here is a brief description of what we will be doing. We will do 14 weeks of training. Three days a week are running days, three days of cross training and or rest, one day rest day. On the week end we will do our long run. We will adapt your training as we go,as in not to hard not to easy. For the most part the workouts during the week are on your own,and the week ends or mandatory group runs. We will doing a walk-run program. We will go run segments of the course in Ft. Worth a few times,we will also have discussion and training on proper form, gear, nutrition, race day nutrition. We will work to just finish or to set a PR or anything in between. I think we will have enough to have weekend long runs on Sat. and Sun.to fit your needs. All I ask is that you commit to the 14 weeks. There will be sickness,Injury, family, but this program is sit up so you can achieve your goal and still have a life. Go look at the Cowtown marathon web site for the event information. I am very excited for all of you,and look forward to seeing you cross the finish line a half marathoner.

  1. I finally figured it out! I did my walk/run tonight. Very energizing! To start, since I'm a newby, I walked 2 and ran 1.

We will go over all the details this week end as we will have time as we will just be going a mile. Can't wait for all of us to meet up. 14 weeks to be a Half marathoner.

  6. Headed out to do run/walk with Sheila and Shirley. Does cleaning up a yard and pulling up carpet yesterday count as cross training?
